Technology Services (TS) has overarching responsibility for the BoI IT service delivery that supports all aspects of the Group`s business, including Application Operations, Service Control, Transition & Design Networking, Data Centre Services, Voice Services and Client Services.

A position has arisen for the role of TS Vulnerability Manager to work within the IO team in managing remediation of identified vulnerabilities across the entire IT estate. This is a significant role working closely across a large number of functions; with our IT security tower, Heads of Service, Change Delivery capability and within Technology Service; Application and Infrastructure Operations and Service Transition.

The successful candidate will work closely with Technology Service Operations to evaluate and identify vulnerabilities and thereby ensure they are remediated and managed effectively by our partners using best practice industry standards in the future.

The successful candidate should have strong IT security background and experience in delivering/managing multiple projects to completion and strong senior stakeholder management.

Location: This role is based in Cabinteely, Dublin 18.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring scheduled vulnerability scanning of the BoI estate is conducted in line with Irish & European regulatory requirement(s) and the BoI Vulnerability Management Process.
  • Liaising with BoI Technology Security Operations to review initial findings against relevant criteria and agreeing TS applicable vulnerabilities where remediation required.
  • Analysing findings and determining initial risk level.
  • Identifying relevant/affected stakeholders within the Technology Services tower.
  • Chairing recurring TS vulnerability interlocks & obtain consensus on an agreed technical remediation approach.
  • Assessing technical remediation effort to ascertain project or BAU relevance.
  • Prioritising of remediation of risks posed by the vulnerabilities discovered by the scanning process
  • Reduction of risk to Bank of Ireland Group IT systems and data by the timely identification and remediation of identified vulnerabilities.
  • Cost efficiency of running regular scans & remediation projects.
  • Prioritisation and planning of all vulnerability remediation projects/changes through service transition to minimise BoI service interruption
  • Prioritisation of all vulnerability remediation streams/projects to achieve regulatory compliance.
  • Driving through all agreed remediation, whether project or BAU, to conclusion & to the satisfaction of all stakeholders.
  • Ongoing reporting to senior management to demonstrate progress.
  • Ensuring that all changes required for remediation are managed effectively through strict Change Control, Asset Management and Capacity Management processes.
  • Effectively managing and escalating with technical issues with appropriateservice provider as needed
  • Ensure full compliance with all Group, Legal and Regulatory requirements and standards.
  • Support Management through positive and proactive participation within the team and active collaboration with colleagues across GTaC as appropriate

Essential Qualifications:

3rd level degree in a relevanty discipline or equivalent experience

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Security related experience, ideally in an Financial Services role
  • Previous experience at senior level stakeholder management
  • Experience in an outsourced multi-tenanted environment
  • Managed large scale projects & deliverables
  • Risk, Audit and Compliance experience
  • Experience in IT service management and delivery based on ITIL service management standards, supporting innovation and managing change
