Reporting to the Head of Business Controls, this role is within the Businesses Controls function. As a key element of our partnership, Post Office distributes BOI UK financial services products through their network. In this respect the role holder will manage the team of Mortgage Assurance and capability Managers to undertake key activities designed to support the partnership strengthen the "First Line of Defence" during a period of growth and significant change.

  • Recruit, deploy, inspire and develop a team of Mortgage Assurance and Capability Managers to strengthen the Banks First Line of Defence
  • Act as a champion for the Conduct Risk regime across the partnership
  • Ensure Conduct Risk regulatory requirements, deadlines and standards are implemented and achieved
  • Responsible for operationalising, oversight and where appropriate, testing of the control framework for the sale of the BOI UK mortgage proposition through the PO branch network
  • Responsible for the oversight and management of first line monitoring, governance, control and escalation processes
  • Support and advise the key stakeholders in PO and BOI UK on conduct risk in relation to mortgage product sales.
  • Identify, evaluate and communicate key emerging conduct risks and trends to ensure the PO Financial Services team are equipped to deliver appropriate risk management responses.
  • Full CeMAP/equivalent professional qualification/commitment.
  • Must be mobile and work across the UK holding a full and valid driving licence.

Experience

  • Significant experience in a regulated mortgage environment demonstrating a strong customer focus.
  • Working and influencing at a senior level with a third party to deliver strong business results in a regulated environment within a robust regulatory framework.
  • Proven track record and experience in management of a successful customer focused team.
  • Excellent commercial awareness with a detailed knowledge of UK retail banking, financial services market, and the dynamic regulatory landscape.
  • Proven experience in analysis of conduct risk controls and processes
