Purpose of the role

This is a critical role for HR Operations and the vacancy is on the Payroll Team. The key purpose of the role is to;

  • Deputise for Payroll Manager
  • Successful posting of Weekly and Monthly Payrolls for ROI and UK staff and pensioners
  • All workload completed with required controls & checks
  • Accurate reporting to Internal Stakeholders & Regulatory Bodies
  • Relationship Management
  • Staff Training & Development Plan

Key Responsibilities;

Deputise for Payroll Manager -

The role holder is required to deputise for the Payroll Manager as required. This will become increasingly importantdue to the level of change & initiatives taking place in HR Operations. As such, a strong No 2 will be required to ensure continuity of service, deliver on change agenda and above all ensure a rigorous control of risks including sign off on all daily activity.

Weekly and Monthly Payrolls for ROI and UK staff and pensioners

Successul posting of all payrolls within required timelines. Analyse SAP reports and complete payroll in a timely manner to ensure staff are paid on the correct date each month. Use of SAP for all functions in role. The amounts involved inpayroll runs are significant and the impact of any errors is high. A high level of analytical and mathematical acumen is required to perform this role.

Risk & Controls

Ensure that all inputs are compliant and have been processed and all checks are performed adequately and fully signed-off. Successful SOX & audit testing.

Query Management

Ensure resolution of escalated detailed payroll queries from staff, pensioners, Revenue, HR Management and Group Finance, often with extremely tight turnaround.

Regulatory and Management Reporting

Completion of accurate reports to internal stakeholders and regulatory bodies

Relationship Management

A number of vendorsinstruct onsalary deductions through thepayroll - the role holder is required to develop and maintain relationships with a number of external vendors which aids in the speedy resolution of queries when they arise.

Training & Development

Work with Payroll Manager to ensure a robust training plan in place & take responsibility for ensuring that relevant training & development is undertaken in line with the plan.

Essential Qualifications

Irish Payroll Assocation - Certified Payroll Technician

Leaving Certificate(minimum of 5 passes in Ordinary subjects including English and Maths)

Essential Skills & Experience

Experience of processing payrolls

ROI & UK Payroll knowledge

Familiarity with Revenue on Line, HMRCwebsites

Experience in submitting monthly & annual returns

Proficient in Microsoft Excel & Access

Ability to work well with figures & to analyis data

People Management

Effective organisational skills & attention to detail

Successfully able to meet tight deadlines
