Role Purpose

The role holder will be responsible for coordinating and providing management information, and maintaining oversight of the effective implementation of the framework in line with the Group Central BCM unit. They will also be responsible for coordinating, planning and executing the Group`s BCM Framework within the UK.

This role can be based in Bristol or London.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Outsourced Risk and Assurance, the role is key in bringing Business continuity Management expertise to BOI UK. Key accountabilities include:

Business Continuity Management Frameworks

  • Engaging with Risk colleagues (both 1st and 2nd line), to oversee the delivery of the Group Business Continuity Management Framework, to ensure it remains fit for purpose and is effective in identifying, measuring, monitoring and controlling all Business Continuity Risks
  • Is a Subject Matter Expert that is able to develop and implement leading Practice in Business Continuity
  • Proactively support and influence Group Management on all Business Continuity Risk requirements.
  • As required support, guide and challenge the Retail UK & BOIG 1st and 2nd line teams in overseeing and managing all aspects of Business Continuity Risk Management from a first line of defence perspective.
  • Support the Head of Outsourced Assurance in operating as key point of contact within BOI UK, OCOO for all aspects of the Business Continuity Management Framework.

Support & Guide BOI UK on all aspects of Business Continuity Management:

  • Facilitating the management of Business Continuity across BOI UK including the implementation of procedures and appropriate controls.
  • Support BOI UK to appropriately recover from crisis events, in line with the Crisis Management Plan.
  • Actively participates in Critical Incident and Crisis management to support the Group Mission Critical Services, where required.
  • Support adherence to internal and external governance, regulatory and industry reporting requirements for Business Continuity Risk.
  • Ensure effective liaison across the divisions in the Bank.

Promote and develop a strong Outsource Risk Management Culture:

  • Champion Business Continuity Management across BOI UK, identifying opportunities and initiatives which help build knowledge and understanding to embed into the DNA of the organisation.
  • Support the Head of Outsourced Risk and Assurance, to embed the BOI UK Living Partnership values into our relationships.

Lead and manage the BOI UK Incident Management Process:

  • To lead the team, to work in partnership across BOI UK and Group to effectively coordinate and deliver the BOI UK Incident Management Policy.
  • Through effective leadership, support and develop the team, enabling them to maximise their potential.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 GCSEs A-C grades including Maths and English

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in a Business Continuity Risk Management environment, ideally in the Financial Services industry and in particular, within an outsourced environment.
  • Ability to apply risk and regulatory knowledge in addressing business issues.
  • A proven manager with strong influencing and negotiating skills, with the presence, intellect and knowledge to establish rapport and credibility at all levels of the business.
  • Independent and decisive with capability to challenge effectively.
  • Proactive operating style with ability to identify issues before they impact on the business.
  • Very sound judgement and commercial acumen with high level of personal and professional integrity.
